Hair fall is nuisance for most of us. Almost everyone is suffering from this problem. Vitamin deficiency, bad health, physical stress like surgery, accidents or a severe illness like Thyroid or simple flu can lead to hair fall. Pregnancy is a common cause of hair fall among women.
During pregnancy women undergo hormonal changes that can result in unstable metabolism and hair fall. If you don”t get enough protein in your diet, your hair becomes thin and undernourished resulting in hair fall and issues related to scalp and Dandruff. So how do we tackle this common problem and most of us have to go thru?
Here are some tips that may be helpful in preventing hair fall:
Focus on your Diet: Hairs are made of Keratin. Keratin is a form of Protein which is the building block of the tissues in our body, including the hair. Make sure you are consume enough protein in your diet. The best sources of protein are milk, egg white, fish, chicken, dry fruits. Leafy vegetables etc. Carrots are good source of Vitamin A which helps us support immunity, promote tissue repair and reduces Cholesterol. Keeping your diet balanced with Protein & Vitamins can help hair regeneration and prevent hair fall issues. So buckle up and get the diet chart ready in front of you. Keep bad habits away: Alcohol can hamper our immune system in a big way. Excess coffee consumption can also lead to unstable metabolism and various stomach issues like acidity, constipation etc, which in turn affect the overall health and body performance. This leads to tension, mood swings resulting into various hair and scalp problems like hair fall etc. Try to avoid Alcohol and limit Coffee / Caffeine consumption. Drink more water, Coconut water and eat more watery fruits like Water-melon & Oranges. These will help you with energy and keep your health fine.
Oils!: Oils have been used for ages when it comes to hair and scalp care. Olive oil, Coconut oil, Amla oil, Castor oil, Almost oil, Mustard oil etc., are some of the widely used oils for hair and scalp massage.
Tip – In coconut oil, add few drops of Almond oil and gently massage your scalp for about 10-15 minutes. Leave it overnight and wash with gentle soap or mild shampoo in the morning. Follow this remedy twice a week for healthy and bouncy hair!
Onions for hair: Onion is one of the widely used vegetable in our kitchen. Not only is it good for health and has a great taste, it’s good for your hair too! (Believe me.. I’ve tested it!). Apply mashed onion on your scalp. Leave it for 30 minutes and wash with Mild / gentle shampoo. Do this thrice a week to prevent hair fall and have a good and healthy hair.
Dandruffs!! – Kill them!: Dandruff is a chronic and most common scalp condition presented in the form of white flakes which appear on the scalp. These flakes from the superficial skin layer made of dead skin cells result in itching. Vigorous scratching ultimately leads to hair fall.Some studies dedicated to find the link between dandruff and hair loss suggest that dandruff doesn’t cause hair loss directly; rather constant and aggressive scratching is the actual culprit behind it. As you often scratch your scalp to relieve itching, it weakens your hair roots causing your hair to fall out.
(a) Neem can help when you want to remove Dandruff. Add few drops of Neem juice in coconut oil and apply over you scalp and leave it for 30 minutes. After that wash your hair with your regular shampoo. This is helpful in removing Dandruff.
(b) Lemon contains citric acid which is a natural cleanser. It helps in restoring the PH balance of our skin and scalp and sheds away dead skin cells. It helps in reducing irritation and itching of scalp. Cut lemon in 2 halves and apply on your scalp for 5-10 minutes. Leave it for 20 minutes and wash you hair with regular shampoo. This is one of the simplest and oldest remedy when it comes to removing dandruff.
